The NextSand Advantage

A chemical-free way of removing sediment, particulate, and turbidity from your water supply. This media can remove material down to 3 microns in size in cold water, and average 5 micron level of removal. NextSand is a mineral that is non-toxic, non-reactive, and does not change the waters pH, or support bacteria growth. Largely unaffected by h2s. Great for surface water, open water sources such as rivers, creeks, and lakes. This can also be used downstream of chlorination or air injection systems to remove oxidized iron particulate. Versatile, inexpensive and long-lasting. In a very short time, NextSand has made traditional MultiMedia obsolete.

If you are wanting to remove Sand, Silt, Sediemnt, Turbidity, Oxidized Iron and other Particulates from Cold water, this is the system for you.

What is the intended maximum flow rate in your home? Why is this important... a single cubic foot of birm media has a maximum flow rate of 5gpm (gallons per minute). So a 0.7cuft system has an average flow rate of 5gpm, a 1cuft system has an average flow rate of 7gpm, 1.5cuft has an average flow rate of 9gpm, 2.0cuft has an average flow rate of 12gpm. All systems have a peak flow rate, meaning they can flow at a slightly higher rate for short periods of time. If you are trying to get the maximum revival to the lowest micron rating from this system then size your system for 1.5 to 2gpm less in average flow rate.

Don't know your flow rate... Fixture counts and the number of people is a practical way when you have the endless water supply, well-pumping systems often are the limiting factor so a bucket test using a hose from your tank manifold, outside tap, yard hydrant, bathtub or tank tee will work great.
