Located halfway between Cranbrook BC & Golden BC, Invermere is called home for almost 4000 people.

The area has seen quite an increase in permanent residents over the last few years. Most of this growth has come from holiday home owners looking to retire in this quieter setting. Yet wanting to still be close enough to larger city centres when an afternoon drive is warranted.

Panorama Resort, Lake Windermere and several golf courses are major attractions in this area for retirees and vacationers alike.

Invermere municipal water has two sources.

A creek fed reservoir and a deep well in Athalmer that was added to keep up with the growing demand. Like most reservoirs it struggles with turbidity and bacteria seasonally. Both are hard water sources with the deep well having elevated concentrations of manganese.

We've often seen a high amount of course sediment in the town's water so a whole house sediment filter is a must here. Water softeners are a great way to remove hardness and manganese from the water along with a reverse osmosis system for one's cooking and drinking needs.

Country water can be very interesting in this area for treatment professionals. As with many areas where hot springs exist there can be unusually high levels of mineralization in deep and shallow groundwater sources. Some of these are so extreme that a whole house reverse osmosis system is the only practical solution.
